HMIS for Guntakal Railway Hospital

SCR general manager GN Asthana inaugurated the Hospital Management and Information System (HMIS) for the Divisional Railway Hospital, Guntakal at a function held at Rail Nilayam, SCR headquarters, in Secunderabad on Monday.

HIMS is useful in the management of the medical history of patients at the hospital. The system will enable registration and computerisation of a patient’s case history for reference and will reduce the waiting time of patients at the hospital. It will also ensure that authorised patients will get treatment and will minimise the upkeep of registers and manual records. Disbursal of medicines and referral to other hospitals for further treatment will also be undertaken through HIMS.

At present, the 131-bedded railway hospital at Guntakal offers primary and secondary health care services to around 18,000 serving.
