Trains were delayed and flights canceled due to heavy fog in Delhi. While in Chandigarh the weather was clear, movement of flights and trains remained disrupted causing inconvenience to passengers.Flights from Delhi to Chandigarh were unable to take off from the Delhi Airport. The Air India flight that goes from Mumbai to Delhi and then Chandigarh was canceled. From Mumbai, the flight was diverted to Jaipur. Jet Airways could not operate flights to Delhi. The morning flight to Delhi has been canceled by the airlines till February 6. The evening flights also could not operate.The trains were also delayed, with the Kalka Shatabdi arriving at Chandigarh at 12.45 pm against its arrival time of 11.05 am. The Himalayan Queen was also delayed by one and a half hours. The Jan Shatabdi that arrives in the city in the evening was delayed by more than two hours. The long distance trains were delayed by several hours as well. Some trains started late from Delhi. Due to the fog, the speed of the trains had to be slowed down adding to the delay.In Chandigarh the maximum temperature was recorded as 23.3 degrees, two degrees above normal and the minimum temperature was 8.5 degrees, two degrees above normal.
