As part of World Cancer Day on February 4, the KIMS Pinnacle Comprehensive Cancer Centre in association with the Southern Railways Women’s Welfare Organisation conducted a cancer awareness campaign and exhibition at the Thiruvananthapuram Central railway station on Friday.Inaugurating the function, Health Minister V.S. Sivakumar said the ban on manufacturing and sale of gutka and panmasala products had helped reduce oral cancer cases and other related diseases.He applauded the efforts of the participating organisations and students of Mar Ivanios College for their support in cancer awareness campaigns.Rajesh Aggarwal, Thiruvananthapuram Divisional Railway Manager; M.I. Sahadulla, Chairman and Managing Director, KIMS Hospital; E.M. Najeeb, Executive Director, KIMS; Deepthi Aggarwal, president, Southern Railway Women’s Welfare Organisation; and V.N Mathur, Chief Medical Superintendent, Railways, participated. |
