Title - ECoR FREIGHT LOADING: ALL TIME HIGH MORE SPECIAL TRAINS AND COACHES PROVIDED.

East Coast Railway (ECoR) has carried 108.19 million tons of freight by registering a growth of 10.8 per cent in its originating freight loading in the current financial year, i.e. from April 2012 to January 2013 as against 97.62 million tons loaded during the corresponding period of last financial year.During January 2013, ECoR has loaded 12.66 million tons of freight as against 10.46 million tons loaded during January 2012, which is 21.1 per cent more than that of last year. This is 8% more than the target fixed by Railway Board i.e. a loading of 11.73 million tons. With this spectacular freight loading performances, ECoR is o­n course for overhauling the budgetary target of 130 million tons during the financial year by a handsome margin.Coal loading at Paradeep Port at an average of 09 rakes per day & at Dhamara Port 5.7 rakes per day and Iron Ore loading at Kottavalasa-Kirandul Line at an average of 15.2 rakes per day has created record which is the best ever for any January in East Coast Railway.

However, the highest point in loading coal from MCL/Talcher, ECoR has achieved the best ever performance in loading of coal at Talcher at an average of 35.3 rakes per day touching the magic figure of loading 40 rakes per day, o­n many days which is unprecedented.

To provide more comfortable journey for the passengers, East Coast Railway has augmented 85 coaches in 06 pair of trains in January 2013. Apart from this, 51 special trains were run to clear the additional rush of the passengers during the month of January which includes 41 trains from East Coast Railway jurisdiction alone.

ECoR has carried 73,928 additional passengers in the month of January 2013 o­nly by running of Special trains and augmentation of coaches in regular important trains originating from its jurisdiction towards different destination besides, 4,43,636 additional passengers carried upto December 2012 of the current financial year.
