            Southern Railway runs about 434 suburban trains and 742 non-suburban trains daily, transporting around 2.4 million passengers o­n an average per day.  Southern Railway, which enjoys the distinction of introducing many innovative amenities to passengers, has joined hands with leading medical care providers to set up Free Emergency Medical Assistance Centres at the following railway stations.

            The facility available at Emergency Medical Care Centres include:

Ø Round the clock free emergency medical care/First-aid to passengers in need.

Ø Service of qualified medical staff including Doctors.

Ø Free Ambulance facility to transport passengers to near-by hospitals for further

    treatment, if necessary.

Ø Availability of medicines and equipments for Trauma/emergency care.

Ø Availability of wheel chairs and stretchers.

Ø Conducting of periodical health camps and Medical awareness programmes.

            This new facility to provide Free Emergency Medical Care to Passengers at important Railway stations has been well received by Passengers and appreciated  by all.
