LCD display showing position and timing of trains went out of order at Indore railway station on Tuesday causing problem to passengers left with no information.A passenger Ravi Desai said, "The screens suddenly turned blank leaving passengers in the lurch". "The problem got worst as the railways only a few months ago has closed manual enquiry system.A railway official said, "The annual contract for the infotainment screens has been awarded to a private advertising agency on a private-public partnership model. They are responsible for upkeep and having been informed. They have sent technicians who are working for a fix".The features of the LCD displays include -centralized information management for all the stations, instant emergency notification all the terminals with audible alarm, custom RSS feeds for important informations or headline news and database linking for train scheduling.
