Title - Mahajan raises LPG use issue with Rly board chairman

INDORE: Member of Parliament from Indore, Sumitra Mahajan, on Friday discussed the issue of use of LPG cylinders in one of the railway stations of Ratlam division with the chairman of the railway board. The issue was highlighted by Times of India in a news published on July 25, 2013.

According to official sources, Mahajan told chairman of railway board of the move to allow use of LPG cylinders only in Chittorgarh (one of the stations of Ratlam division), while it is banned in Western railway. She said that only selective retailers of Chittorgarh were allowed to use and it is a step-motherly behaviour towards other retailers in the Ratlam division.

Sumitra Mahajan speaking to the TOI said that she had raised the issue earlier as well and will try again to raise it in Parliament. She told, "I have checked official circulars and nowhere it is mentioned that gas cylinders cannot be used, it is mentioned that it can be used with due precautions."
