MUMBAI: Pedestrians have been inconvenienced due to shutting down of the foot over bridge, which runs over the tracks between Mahim and Matunga railway stations. The bridge is used by pedestrians to cross from Mahim East to West and vice-versa. However, it has now been shut for repairs. When contacted, WR chief spokesperson Sharat Chandrayan said, "We have shut the foot over bridge for four days - from April 25 to April 28. This could inconvenience citizens who use it regularly. But they are requested to co-operate with the authorities as the bridge is in urgent need of repairs." He further stated that once the maintenance and repair work is done, it will be thrown open for public from April 29 (Monday). "We are undertaking repairs of few bridges along the WR corridor. These bridges run over the tracks and the repairs are required in the interest of safety of citizens," an official added.
