ALLAHABAD: A meeting between railway officers and top freight customers was organised at North Central Railway headquarters at Subedarganj on Friday.Addressing the meeting, general manager of NCR, Alok Johri said, "Our zone has achieved significant increase in freight loading in the year 2012-13 registering an increase of about 6.21 per cent compared to the previous year and we are confident that freight loading will also increase in the present year."During the meeting, chief operating manager UK Singh and chief commercial manager CS Chauhan discussed about the performance of the year 2012-13 and about the probable loading in the current financial year. They told that that loading in the last financial year 2012-12 was about 9.15 million tones, which is not only more than the previous year but it is also above the target fixed by the Railway Board. Various representatives of the freight customers came up with their problems before the railway officers. During the meeting, main freight customers of NCR including representatives from IOC ( Indian Oil Corporation), Container Corporation of India Limited and others were present. tnn |
