Posted by : AllIsWell on Sep 22, 2012 - 18:00:05 PM

A special campaign is being conducted by the Raipur Division of South East Central Railway from September 17 to 26 on directions of the Secretariat and zonal headquarters to prevent passengers from carrying any kind of explosives or volatile substances during their journeys.

An intensive search campaign is being conducted with the support of diverse departments of Raipur Division, especially with the active cooperation of security forces and ticket inspectors. Awareness among people is also being raised by regular announcements on the ghastly consequences of carrying such explosives in the train.

Officials said carrying any kind of explosives - petrol, diesel, kerosene, matchboxes or burning stoves - is dangerous and a punishable offence. Passengers should also inform Railways personnel, RPF, the TTE or Station Master if they find any other person travelling with such substances, they added.

Meanwhile, on public demand, a general class chair car will be added to the Janshatabdi Express from September 23, plying between Raipur, Gondia and Durg.
