: Hearing impaired persons took out an awareness march and staged a demonstration as part of International Day of the Deaf being observed on September 23.

The awareness march organised by Deaf Enabled Foundation, started from Sivaganga park and reached railway station. The aim of the march was to create awareness among the public about problems of hearing impaired persons and the importance of sign language for them.

Parents and family members of the hearing impaired persons also attended the march. Banners explaining the impairment were carried and pamphlets on sign language were distributed.
