Children dressed up as Swami Vivekananda cheered along with members of the Tuticorin District Passengers Welfare Association ahead of a rail journey in the Vivek Express train, a weekly service, which was introduced from Tuticorin on April 21.The train service was announced in the Union Railway Budget in 2011 to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda.Ten children clad in ‘kavi’ dress (saffron) distributed sweets to passengers. The weekly express train is scheduled to depart from Tuticorin station to Okha in Gujarat on all Sundays.
