BHOPAL: The Bhopal-Bina Main Line Electrical Multiple Unit (MEMU) train would be flagged off from Bhopal Railways station on Wednesday by chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and leader of opposition in Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj.Modelled in the same fashion as that of the Mumbai local trains, the new train would benefit about 50,000 passengers travelling between Bhopal and Bina.According to an official release, the train would be run on a trial basis and would have 12 coaches. It would be faster compared to other passenger trains as traction motors are fitted in each of the coaches. The train would be equipped with two engines and hence there would be no need for changing of engines. Also, the train can move in either direction- forward and backward.The train would be conducted through AC current. Besides Mumbai, these trains are also being run at metros like Delhi, Bangalore, and Kolkata among others.

Also, MEMU is being run at Ratlam, Ujjain, Nadga stations.

The train would halt at 19 stations including Sukhi Sewania, Bhadbhada Ghat, Sanchi, Vidisha, Gulabganj, Ganj Basoda, Mandi Bamora among others.The train would leave Bhopal at 10.20 am and reach Bina at 14.05 pm. The return journey of the train would be from Bina at 17.00 pm and reach Bhopal the same night at 21.05 pm.

Delay in double decker, platform no 6:::The inauguration of double decker train between Habibganj and Indore has been delayed for a while owing to clearing of some shops from platform no 6 of the Bhopal Railway Station. Divisional railway manager (DRM) Rajiv Chaudhary told TOI, "The sanction of the double decker train is awaited from the commissioner of railway safety (CRS). Hopefully it would come soon."Speaking about platform no 6, he said, "There are still some shops that are impeding the smooth flow of traffic. The BMC is trying to relocate them. We have held talks with the shopkeepers on Monday. Also, some minor works for road and gate work is to be completed which would take about 10 days."
