CHENNAI: Train services were delayed in the Beach-Tambaram section on Saturday after a commuter alerted security officials that he saw an object on tracks near Pallavaram. The alarm, however, turned out to be false. Train services were affected for nearly 30 minutes from 9.30am as railway staff inspected the tracks. Services resumed when they did not find any suspicious object. Several suburban trains and two express trains coming from southern districts of Tamil Nadu were delayed.A few suburban trains were operated on the main line to prevent complete disruption during the peak hour."A commuter alerted a railway official that he saw something on the tracks at Pallavaram. Suburban trains were detained at various stations till an inspection was over. A few trains were operated on the main line to avoid congestion," said a railway official. | ||
