: Home sides NF Railway and Guwahati qualified from Group A for the knockouts in the Nuruddin Ahmed Trophy senior inter-district elite group cricket tournament today.While the railmen tamed Golaghat by 150 runs in the last league match at Barsapara stadium here today to top the group unbeaten with 13 points, Guwahati finished with 10 points. Golaghat finished third in the group with four points and Bongaigaon last with nought on the table.Golaghat today resumed their chase at overnight 47 for five to be skittled out for 88 in 30.4 overs this morning.Put in to bat, the railmen were all out or 238 in 74 overs yesterday.Skipper Diku Chan, who was not out overnight on 11, was the first to return to the dressing room today, adding only one run to his score. However, Jason Handique, who was also not out on four yesterday, managed to withstand the NF Railway bowling attack for some time before being out for 13 (4x1) this morning.Apart from Gitartha Basumatary, who scored 16 (4x3) yesterday, Pranjal Saikia (10, 6x1) was the only other Golaghat batsman to score in double figures today. | ||
