SIVAGANGA : An all party meeting convened by the Karaikudi Chamber of Commerce and Industry has urged the railway authorities to run the Pallavan Express extended up to Karaikudi and Chennai-Karaikudi weekly express without any further delay.The meeting, in its resolution, thanked Union Finance Minister P. Chidambaram, representing Sivaganga Lok Sabha constituency, for securing the train services to Karaikudi, fulfilling the long pending demand of the people. The Railway authorities should also run the Coimbatore-Rameswaram weekly express announced in the budget without further delay, the resolution said.The meeting, held recently, in the presence of Municipal Chairman Karpagam Ilango, was attended by representatives of all political parties, service organisations and traders’ bodies, Chamber president Muthu Palaniappan said in a press release.
