To minimise risks in Delhi Metro's Phase III construction, a centralised data management system of Tunnel Boring Machines (TBM) has been installed, a Delhi Metro official said Sunday.According to Delhi Metro, 34 TBMs will be used to dig 74 tunnels, which will be 53 km long, for its underground corridors in Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) in Phase III."The centralised data management system will act as a tool for data acquisition, visualisation and reporting. It will also minimise risk as it will provide immediate information on progress of the tunnels and correctness of the tunnel alignment, ground settlement and status of buildings and structures along the underground alignment," the metro statement said.Metro officials added that use of 34 TBMs will be the highest number put to work in any urban centre in the world."Tunnels in Phase III are going to pass under railway tracks and under high rise building, flyovers and ring roads," officials added. | ||
