INDORE: Railway stations in Ujjain, Dahod and Chittorgarh may look a bit cleaner, following the introduction of mechanised sanitation system recently. For Raltam, a tender in this regard has been floated.In February this year, a similar process was started in Indore and a Jaipur-based company was given the contract. Indore was the first station in Ratlam division to have a mechanised sanitation system in place. PRO of Ratlam division, Pradeep Sharma said that the firm Oriental Agencies Pvt Ltd has undertaken work in Ujjian and Dahod.Sharma said, "Nearly 94 people have been engaged for this work in Ujjain on a monthly contract of Rs 7.4 lakh. A total of 11 machines are there and staffers work in shifts with one supervisor in each shift. The work started last month."Ratlam railway divisional manager Lokesh Narayan said that, "Like Indore, we have recently given contracts to private firms at these stations. I am personally monitoring the work through CCTV cameras fitted across stations and check the daily records," added the DRM. | ||
