KOCHI : Rajesh Agrawal, Thiruvananthapuram Divisional Manager of Southern Railway, has called upon the business community here to make use of the container train service operated by the division.Speaking at an interactive session organised by the Kerala Chamber of Commerce and Industry, he suggested that Kerala should enhance the rail movement of containers, especially connecting Vallarpadam terminal, considering its cost advantage.The division, he said, is operating weekly train service connecting the terminal for the benefit of the Exim trade in the region.He pointed out that the introduction of Kairali Queen by the Thiruvananthapuram division for the movement of agro based products from Kerala to North Indian markets has been receiving overwhelming response from the farming community in the State.Ravi Chand, Senior Divisional Operational Manager, said the Railway is planning to develop hubs in Kochi, Thrissur and Kollam for development of goods transportation.
