THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:Railways will start reservations at the second entry of the central station on Power House Road here on Tuesday, along with launching work on a booking office below the reservation centre at Thampanoor. The twin steps are part of efforts to offer world-class facilities at the station. Union Minister of State for Human Resource Development Shashi Tharoor will launch the work on the booking office near the entry of the footbridge on platform one.The old office will eventually be converted into an executive lounge of the Kerala Tourism Development Corporation Hotels and Resorts. The booking office will have a lounge area and a concourse with shelters for passengers. The work will be completed in a time-bound manner.A top railway official told The Hindu that more counters would be added on the Power House side based on demand.
