VARANASI/GORAKHPUR: The schedule of various NER trains will be affected due to yard remodelling work in progress at Gorakhpur station. Several trains will be cancelled, short-terminated and diverted during this period. The work will disturb the train schedule on this route, however, the remodeling work will later prove to be beneficial for the passengers.

Alok Kumar Singh, CPRO, NER, said, "The yard remodelling work will be very beneficial for the passengers though they will face some difficulties during the work. After the remodeling work passengers will not have to wait for long hours for trains. At present the platforms at Gorakhpur Cant and Domingarh are not free at many times causing delay in the arrival of the trains but after the remodeling work, there will be 10 platforms available at Gorakhpur station. The capacity of platform number 1 and 2 will be increased to 26 coaches and Gorakhpur railway station will become the Asia's longest platform in with an expansion upto 1,380 meter."

The pre-interlocking work will be done from September 26 to October 2 and from October 3 to October 6, the non-interlocking work will be completed. During thios period many trains will be cancelled which include, 12537 Muzaffarpur- Manduadeeh Express on September 27, September 30, October 2 and October 4, 12538 Manduadeeh- Muzaffarpur Express on September 27, September 30, October 2 and October 4, 15273 Raksaul- Delhi Express- from September 30 to October 6, 15274 Delhi-Raksaul Express from September 29 to October 5, 15279 Saharsa- Adarsh Nagar Delhi Express on October 3 ,6, 15280 Adarsh Nagar Delhi- Saharsa Express on October 4 and 7, 19601 Ajmer- Newjalpai Gudi Express on October 5, 15108 Mathura Jankshan- Chhapra Express on October 2 and 4, 15108 Mathura Jankshan- Chhapra Express on October 2 and 4, 12531/12532 Gorakhpur-Lucknow Jankshan- Gorakhpur Intercity Express from September 29 to October 6, 15003 Kanpur Anwarganj- Gorakhpur Express from October 1 to October 6, 15004 Gorakhpur- Kanpur Express October 2 to October 6, 1511/15112 Chhapra- Manduadeeh- Intercity Express from October 4 to October 6.

Under the diversions during this period train from Darbhanga to Delhi will run via Chhapra- Odihar- Varanasi-Pratapgarh-Lucknow instead of Gorakhpur- Barabanki- Lucknow from October 3 to 6. From October 2 to 5 Amrapali Express will run via Chhapra- Mau- Shahganj - Lucknow instead of Chhapra- Gorakhpur- Gonda- Lucknow. On October 5 Muzaffarpur- Anandvihar Express will run via Gorakhpur Cant- Bhatni-Varanasi-Sultanpur- Lucknow instead of Gorakhpur- Gonda - Lucknow, From September 28 to October 5, Amritsa Katihar Express will run via Lucknow- Barabanki-Faizabad-Shahganj- Mau- Chhapra instead of Lucknow- Gonda- Chhapra. On October 2 and 5, Katihar-Amritsar Express will run via Chhapra- Mau- Shahganj- Lucknow, from October 2 to 4, Lalgarh- Guwahati Express will run via Chhapra- Odihar- Varanasi-Sultanpur- Lucknow, on October 4, Porbandar- Muzaffarpur Express will run via Lucknow-Faizabad- Mau- Chhapra, on October 4 and Ernakulam- Barauni Express will run via Lucknow- Faizabad- Shahganj- Mau- Chhapra. From October 1 to 3, Dehradoon -Gorakhpur Express will only run till Lucknow while from September 27 to October 4 Ahmadabad- Gorakhpur Express will stop at Basti. The Gorakhpur- Dehradoon Express that was scheduled to run on October 2 and 4 will run from Lucknow on October 3 and 5.
