An electric multiple unit (EMU) train will become operational between Delhi and Rohtak in February. Electrification work for the project has already been completed. This was announced by the Member of Parliament from Rohtak, Deepender Singh Hooda, during a public meeting in neighbouring Bahadurgarh on Sunday.“The train will facilitate smooth and easy travel in comparatively less time. It will run through Bahadurgarh. It was a longstanding demand of the people that an EMU train should be run on this route. All arrangements have been completed to make it operational in February,” said Mr. Hooda. He also announced that the foundation stone for a Metro rail link from Delhi to Bahadurgarh would be laid on February 2.“Just as expansion of the Metro network to Gurgaon led to development in the area, the arrival of the Metro in Bahadurgarh will script a growth story in this region as well,” said Mr. Hooda, adding that Haryana will be contributing Rs.800 crore for the new Rs.2,000-crore project. | ||
