Gurgaon: Shortly after the launch of the Rewari-Jhajjar-Rohtak railway line, connecting south and north Haryana, the state is all set to get yet another connecting link to the national capital. After Gurgaon and Faridabad, Bahadurgarh will now become the third town of Haryana to be connected with New Delhi through metro rail link as Union Urban Development Minister Kamal Nath and Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda laid the foundation stone of the Mundaka-Bahadurgarh-Sankhol Metro rail link on February 2. Congress MP Deepender Singh Hooda said Bahadurgarh was a gateway of Haryana and the metro link would pave the way for more development in the state. Addressing a series of public meetings at Jakhauda, Asaudha, Kulasi, Luharheri and Nilothi villages, Deepender Hooda pointed out that the Metro rail connection was a longstanding demand of the people, which was now going to be fulfilled. "The Electric Multiple Unit (EMU) train(s) will also start functioning soon to provide a faster transportation option to the local residents," Hooda asserted. The MP was accompanied by local MLA Rajender Joon, District Congress president Anand Sagar, zila parishad president Satish Chhikara, nagar parishad president Ravi Khatri and several local leaders of the ruling party.
