The Mysore Division of South Western Railway today launched cleanliness drive to elicit public support in keeping trains and railway premises clean. The campaign began at the Mysore railway station involving the members of Bharath Scouts and Guides and the ticket-checking staff. Speaking to newsmen senior Divisional Railway Commercial Manager, Dr Anup Dyanad said the authorities have been issuing the pamphlets containing the gist of the Indian Railways (Penalties for activities affecting cleanliness at railway premises) Rules, 2012, will be distributed to passengers on the station premises. The campaign was also simultaneously launched at all important stations in the Mysore Division, including Davangere, Shimoga town, Hassan, Arsikere, Bhadravati, Ranibennur, and Haveri among others. The railway authorities pointed out that the Indian Railways (Penalties for activities affecting cleanliness at railway premises) Rules, 2012 have been notified by the Government of India and had come into effect from November 26, 2012. | ||
