Nellore: The SCR Divisional Assistant Commercial Manager (Reservations) Anand inspected the Railway ticket counters at Sullurpet Railway station in the district on Saturday to find out about the problems faced by the people in getting tickets. The passengers brought their problems at the Tatkal counters to the notice of the officer.

They told him that some of the people were jumping the queue system during the time of issue of Tatkal tickets and those who came early were not able to get tickets. Also, the reservation forms for Tatkal tickets were collected in advance by allotting numbers.

The passengers told the official that the clerk at the reservation counter does not know Telugu or English and he understands only Hindi and this was resulting in a communication problem. They said inexperienced trainees were appointed to issue tickets and this was causing inordinate delay in the issue of tickets.

The Assistant Commercial Manager noted down their grievances and assured them that he would try to bring their complaints to the notice of the higher authorities. However, he remained silent on the issue of appointing persons who knew Telugu. He directed the concerned officials to strictly adhere to the queue system while issuing Tatkal tickets.
